Home Delivery

Delivery service inside a flat yet to be furnished

The Home Delivery service includes bringing the products into the customer's specified room within the home. Packaging removal and disposal are available as an optional add-on service. Please note that furniture assembly is not included. Delivery is scheduled by appointment.

Home Delivery has Curbside Delivery as a first phase, and so we recommend that you consult the characteristics of this service, particularly regarding limited traffic zones and the possible use of "special vehicles" (note that Home Deliveries are typically scheduled using vehicles less than 12 metres in length).

Accessible Stairways and Access Routes

The distance between the vehicle's stopping point (where the delivery is unloaded) and the customer's entrance door must be less than 20 metres. If the distance is greater, this information must be shared with Customer Service before placing the order.

It is the responsibility of the Final Client and Distributor to ensure that the access routes are free and accessible, and verify the delivery feasibility by checking the width and height of passage areas, following the "accessible stairway space" criteria.

By "accessible stairway space" we mean that the stairway space must allow for the package and people carrying it to pass though.
To be considered accessible, the stairway space must:

  • be at least 90 cm wide and 220 cm high
  • have a landing of at least 90 x 90 cm in the case of straight staircases (1)
  • have a landing of at least 90 x 180 cm in the case of two-flight staircases with an 180° turn (2)
  • have a landing of at least 120 x 120 cm in the case of three-flight staircases with a 90° turn (3)
Schemes of three possible staircases

It is the Distributor's responsibility to provide correct data: partial or incorrect information in this regard may lead to a situation where items that do not fit (through the stairwell or doorways) are left at street level (or at intermediate points along the route) without the possibility of claiming any refund; alternatively (upon instruction from the Final Customer), the supply may be returned to the reference warehouse with the corresponding costs being charged.

What is indicated is particularly important in the presence of Bulky Items: in such a case, the presence of an accessible stairwell does not automatically guarantee that the items will fit, which must therefore be verified precisely in relation to each bulky item.

Bulky Items

The Distributor is required to verify that the stairwell and the access routes to the designated room permit the movement of the items.

During the quoting and ordering phase, the Distributor must correctly select the "Bulky Items" checkbox; any failure to notify this before the order is placed will still lead to subsequent invoicing.
For example, we can state:
- linear sofa with large dimensions;
- pre-assembled furnishings with large dimensions (such as sideboards, display cabinets, columns, double-door refriderators,...);
- single components with large dimensions (like some table tops and headboards);
- bases made of stone.

Generally, items are considered Bulky when a piece of furniture satisfies even just one of the following three criteria:
- packages weighing more than 70 kg;
- three dimensional packages with a side measuring or greater than cm 230;
- ceramic or stone panels with a side measuring or greater than cm 180.

The weight / volume standard ratio is 150 kg per 1 cubic metre.

External Lift

In certain cases (resulting from various combinations of high floors, volume of the delivery, bulky items, type of staircases, and access routes), the objective necessity of using the so-called "External Lift" (otherwise defined as "external self-propelled hoist") may emerge.

In these cases, a specific quote will be formulated which includes the necessary site inspection and the rental of the external lift (during the site inspection, the feasibility of the operation and the potential necessity of public ground occupancy permits are verified). Should the Distributor decide not to accept the formulated quote, the Inside Delivery service will be deducted from the total and a Street Level Delivery will be performed. Changing the service mode defined before the service begins will lead to the invoicing of the service actually rendered; changing the mode defined after the service has begun may lead to the invoicing of the service initially agreed upon.

It is also possible that for certain deliveries, Dhomeo itself (including through its local correspondents) may independently decide to use the External Lift (even in the case of an "Accessible Stairway" or in the absence of Bulky Items). In these cases (unlike when the External Lift is strictly necessary), the cost of the site inspection and rental is already included in the Inside Delivery service fee, but any required permits remain excluded, as these vary based on the Municipality where the delivery takes place (the cost of the permits is charged to the Distributor).

When the use of the External Lift is anticipated, an extension of the delivery times is possible.
